Simon was wearing a hospital gown. His hair was messy, and he looked just like an ordinary middle-aged man, far different from his former self. They were in a shared hospital ward, and there were others around, so Bella didn't want to explode in anger.

She calmly asked, "What happened?"

Guilt filled Simon's eyes. "I'm sorry. I failed in my business and took a delivery job. I got into an accident near this hospital. I didn't know you worked here…"

Bella wasn't sure if he was telling the truth. After being deceived too many times, she hesitated to believe him. "You don't have money for medical bills?"

Simon furrowed his brows anxiously. "I'll figure something out."

Without saying anything, Bella turned and left. She headed to the payment desk to settle Simon's bills. As long as he wasn't there for her, everything else didn't matter.

With Lana's big mouth, the news spread everywhere.

When Ethan found Bella, he asked, "Is your father in our hospital?"

Bella frowned. "I don't have a father."

Ethan was surprised. "But Lana said…"

Bella was extremely annoyed. "Tell Lana not to spread other people's business without knowing the details. What good does it do for her?"

Seeing how irritated Bella looked, Ethan quickly said, "I didn't know you had a bad relationship with your father. I'll tell Lana to stop spreading nonsense. I won't ask anymore. Carry on with your work."

After saying that, Bella turned and left without looking back.

Lana realized what Bella meant and angrily ran after her, only to be stopped by Ethan.

"What's wrong with you two now?"

Lana shoved him away. "Are you afraid I'll do something to Bella? Take a good look at her! How can you like someone as cold-blooded as her? I was just trying to tell her to take care of her father, yet she cursed me!"

Ethan sighed as he watched Bella walk away. "It's her family matters. Why are you trying to meddle? She knows how to handle it herself. It wasn't right of you to interfere to begin with."

Lana glared fiercely at him. "You're such a hopeless simp! You'd think she's perfect even if she was a vampire sucking out blood from others, huh? You're hopeless!"
