Dominic rolled his eyes at her and said, "I find it annoying when you try to act polite with me."

Bella pursed her lips. "Then, I won't be polite with you anymore. You should leave once you've finished eating."

He raised an eyebrow and said, "You wish."

Bella froze and was suddenly at a loss for words. She hadn't been joking with him, but why did the meaning behind her words suddenly change? It was almost as if she had just given him permission to stay the night…

However, he had just helped her out, so she did not have it in her to chase him away.

After cleaning the kitchen, Bella held the rubbish bag in her hand, planning to head downstairs to throw it. She had just reached the door when Dominic, who was sitting on the couch, suddenly asked, "Are you planning to head down?"

She nodded. "I'm heading down to throw the rubbish."

He got up and walked toward her. "I'll go down with you as I'm just about to head back home."

She secretly sighed in relief. It seemed like he had only been joking just now and had no intentions of staying the night.

As if reading her thoughts, he chuckled while ruffling her hair. "Do you think I don't know what's on your mind?'

She felt slightly suspicious. "Do you really know what I'm thinking about?"

Dominic gave her an ambiguous look. Although he had not answered her question, his expression had said it all.

Blushing, Bella muttered under her breath, "You're so annoying." Then, she turned to walk toward the elevator.

Once they reached the ground floor, Bella threw the rubbish before walking Dominic to the entrance of her apartment.

Then, she watched as his car disappeared off into the distance before turning around and heading back.

It seemed that Dominic did understand what was on her mind.

She couldn't help but frown, but it wasn't out of concern for Simon. She was suspicious of his motives in appearing in the same hospital as her.

There were so many hospitals in Joville, so why did he have to choose the one she was working in? There was a chance that he was here because of her.

Before she could think things through, Lana suddenly walked by her and said, "I didn't expect that your lavish life was the result of your father's hard work.

"Your father had been out working, driving and making deliveries at dawn to earn money, causing him to get into an accident. If he hadn't been brought to our hospital, we might not even have known that you had a father."

Bella's expression darkened. "Who told you that?"
