Dominic's hand began to roam as he held Bella in his arms. He would pinch her earlobe, cheeks, and even play with her hands occasionally.
Bella was feeling exasperated as she tried to put her focus on her TV show, ignoring his antics.
When his phone rang, Bella felt like she had heard the sound of an angel singing. She had assumed he would walk to the side to answer his phone. Unexpectedly, he answered it while sitting right there.
Due to their close proximity, she could hear what the person on the other end was saying clearly. It was a call from Ian, and he asked, "Where have you been hiding off too recently?"
Dominic rubbed her hand against his cheek and said, "Just say what you have to say."
Ian laughed cheekily. "Why don't you come out and play? I can introduce you to a few women I know. I'm afraid you'll drown in loneliness since Bella left. Look at how angry you've become. Do you know your hormones might fluctuate if you don't have a proper sex life?"
Dominic's and Bella's expressions immediately darkened, and Dominic's hands became tense. "Fuck you. You can enjoy them yourself."
Only then did Ian realize that something was wrong. "Are you with Bella now?"
Bella couldn't help but say, "That's right. Isn't that such a big coincidence? Now, hurry up and call him away. I'm getting tired of him."
The second Ian hung up the phone, Dominic's expression was filled with exasperation. "Nothing like that ever happened. Don't believe his nonsense…"
Bella struggled to break free from his grasp and turned her laptop that had been playing her show off. "I'm heading to sleep now, so you should probably head back. I need to go to work tomorrow, so I can't stay up with you."
Dominic didn't insist on staying as he said, "Fine. I'll head off, then."
For some reason, Bella felt like something was off when she heard him agree to leave so soon.
It made her feel as if he had only come to her to fulfill his needs. Was he willing to leave as he had already gotten what he wanted? Wasn't it impossible to make him leave in the past?
As she knew she had mild low blood sugar, she took some glucose to refill her energy as she was afraid she would faint.
She had finally gotten the opportunity to rest in the lounge for a few minutes and take a breather when Lana stopped by the door, looking displeased.
She said, "Everyone is busy, so why do you have the time to sit here and rest? Do you think the hospital is your home? If you're so used to the carefree and relaxed life of dating rich men, why don't you go find another wealthy boyfriend instead of coming to the hospital to slack off and being a burden?"
Bella looked at her calmly and answered, "First of all, I haven't had a break since I arrived at the hospital this morning. Furthermore, there's not much to do left, and I'm only taking a ten-minute break.
"There's no need for you to come here and point fingers at me. It's true that I'm new, but I have much more experience than you do. I know what needs to be done when the time comes. Please don't bring your own personal issues with me into the workplace."
Lana did not expect Bella to retort her words so easily. She was at a loss for words and didn't know what to say. Her face turned red, but she wasn't willing to leave just like that.
