"Alright!" The young man’s eyes lit up as he swiftly packed the food with his Pet Beast, whose ears resembled icy spikes.
Qiao Sang handed the food to Yaobao and the others one by one.
"What are you buying?" Ye Xiangting walked over after snapping a picture.
"Pet Beast food," Qiao Sang said as she handed the last portion, something favored by Psychic Series Pet Beasts, to the Bao Bao Servant. "This is for you."
"Bao Bao."
The Bao Bao Servant froze for a moment, then reached out and accepted it.
"How much is it?" Qiao Sang asked.
"No money," the young man said, flashing a set of bright white teeth. "Just 5 points in total."
What?! Qiao Sang’s heart sank, but she maintained a calm expression as she replied, "I don’t have any points."
The young man’s face changed instantly, full of disbelief. "What’s your major? How could you not have any points?"
Ye Xiangting, who had overheard, put down her phone—where she had been editing pictures—and explained, "My daughter was studying as an intergalactic exchange student at Yuliandun University on Chao Su Star until just recently. She only returned today for enrollment."
The young man went silent for a moment, seemingly weighing the truth of her words.
After a few seconds, his expression darkened. "Forget it, just take it and go. I don’t want the money anymore."
"That’s not right," Ye Xiangting said, frowning.
Just as she was about to say more, Qiao Sang interrupted, "How about this: leave me your contact info, and I’ll transfer you the 5 points when I earn them."
Having studied at Yuliandun University, she understood better than her mother how important points were to students.
Compared to points, money meant nothing.
The young man’s face brightened instantly, changing as rapidly as a Sichuan opera mask. He pulled out his phone and grinned again. "Let me add you!"
After exchanging contact information, Qiao Sang left the food cart and walked from the Beastmaster Academy to the Breeding Academy.
"Hey! Wait up!" A voice called out from behind.
Qiao Sang and her mother stopped in their tracks.
She turned around to see a streak of fiery red shooting towards them and landing nearby.
Amid the dissipating flames, a slender figure appeared alongside a nearly entirely red bear-like Pet Beast.
"Excuse me, is your Pet Beast a Variant Color Pet Beast?" A bespectacled, black-haired girl asked with interest, glancing at Little Treasure Hunter, who was sipping a black drink. "Sorry to bother you, but from a distance, your Pet Beast looked a lot like Dragon Country’s Ghost Ring King, though the color seemed different. I used a Pet Beast Identifier to check and confirmed its color is indeed different, so I came to ask."
"It is a Variant Color Ghost Ring King," Qiao Sang responded with a nod.
"If you’re looking for points, we can negotiate!" The black-haired girl shouted after them.
